Colour rendering index (CRI) is a measurement of a light sources ability to faithfully reveal the true colour of an object in comparison to a natural light source such as sunlight and is measured between 0-100. The CRI-H200R has a high CRI 96+ value, which means the quality of the light source is extremely good and shows colours in their true form and also helps reduce eye strain that lower CRI lights can cause.

The three colour temperatures available are warm white (2500 K), daylight (4500 K) and cool white (6500K). The right hand button operates the torch normally and each press will cycle through warm white, daylight, cool white and off. If left in any mode longer than 8 seconds the next press will turn it off and the last used colour temperature will be remembered when the light is next turned on.

There is also a sensor control switch so that the torch can be turned on and off by waving your hand in front of the torch (approx. 15 cm metres sensing distance), which is perfect for when you're carrying out tasks where your hands may be dirty so you don't want to touch the torch. To operate the torch with sensor control it needs to be activated by pressing the left hand button, and a red light will come on to confirm sensor mode is activated.

You can then wave your hand in front of the head torch and the light will turn on/off in the last used setting, so for example if you know you want to use the daylight setting you can set this with the normal button first and it can then be used with the sensor. To exit the sensor output simply press the sensor button again.

Powered by a built in 1500 mAh Lithium polymer rechargeable battery, the CRI-H200R has a run-time of 3 hours. Recharging the unit is easy, simply insert the micro USB cable into the underside of the head torch (with the torch turned off) and the other end into a USB power source with an output of 1 A. To show charging is in progress a red LED will illuminate and turn green to show charging is complete after approximately 3 hours.

The high visibility technology means that you will always be seen, which is useful when working in an industrial environment. The fully adjustable non-slip silicone lined headband helps keep the head torch secure on your head or on a hardhat and a hinged bracket allows the head torch to be adjusted downwards within a 60° angle so you can direct the light source where you need it most.
